Nijmegen, Saturday 29th January 2000. I was just about to write you a letter when I received your questionnaire. Thank you therefore. It facilitates already a lot of what I was about to write. First of all I have to thank you and all of your friends and colleagues for the incredible and unexpected happening during the end of the old and the start of the new millennium. I can assure you that I informed my Best People about the theme Over the Border in an extended letter. Looking back to the event I can assure that I could not have made a better choice than coming to Scotland on that Special Occasion. I am incredibly grateful for all the kindness and friendship that I received in The Borders and The Highlands. I give you my compliments for the perfect organization for which you put yourself responsable. In November I hope my planned Congress "El Mundo de Mañana" (The World of Tommorrow) will take place in Torremolinos and Málaga, with estimated a 1200 participants. I do not know yet how to organize everything. Therefore I depend on my best colleagues, but I hope they will be even as good as you! I think it was no exaggeration that Riddle spoke about Ros's Borderland. You would do me a great pleasure to send me the text of that goodbye speech in The Buccleuch Arms. Next 2 February I will do my best to see the JWB again in Apeldoorn after having visited Palace Het Loo where I had planned a party on the 28th of September 1997. As you will see in my questionnaire I found my camera back in the car after having cleared it up in Newcastle. I received there a very good protection from the Security Service. As from next 5 till 29 February I will be back in Spain. I already invited Steward to come to Torremolinos. There are a lot of attractive possibilities for them for a performance. Of course you'll be welcome as well in my humble place. It's only 3 1/2 hours flying from Edinburough. I think you can help us to start Instituto Cervantes Scotland in good collaboration with your Tourist Board. Please give my regards to all our friends.
